Author Grace Lin
Award-winning author Grace Lin will discuss her contributions to young adult and children’s literature in a talk titled, The Path of a Multicultural Author.
Lin is a New York Times-bestselling author and illustrator of picture books, early readers and middle grade novels. Her novel, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, was awarded the Newbery Honor in 2010, and her early reader, Ling and Ting, received the Theodor Geisel Honor in 2011. More recently, her novel, When the Sea Turned Silver, was named a 2016 National Book Award finalist, and its cover illustration was displayed at the White House, where Lin was recognized as a Champion of Change for Asian American and Pacific Islander Art and Storytelling.

This event free and open to the public and is supported by the Willson Center for Arts and Humanities at the University of Georgia, the Department of Literacy and Language Education at UGA’s College of Education, the Athens-Clarke County Library, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
